The second stage, set in a picturesque setting that transitioned from rural to urban environments, witnessed Dries de Bondt's determined effort to claim the leader's jersey throughout. The day of racing concluded with a nail biting mass sprint finish, with Jonathan Milan clinching the victory. 

Following the race, Milan expressed his happiness at the enthusiastic Chinese fans who lined the roads. He was pleasantly surprised by the popularity of cycling in China and appreciated the enthusiasm of the fans at the podium. “It’s one of the reasons why I love racing in China.”

De Bondt, representing Alpecin-Deceuninck, was on a mission in the second stage. After being part of the main breakaway on the previous day, he once again took the initiative and formed a breakaway of four riders, wearing his 'most active rider' jersey. 

De Bondt found himself in third place, just four seconds behind the leader in the general classification after the first stage, thanks to bonus seconds earned during intermediate sprints. He had the opportunity to take the lead in the general classification if he could continue to accumulate bonus seconds during the second day.

The breakaway's early efforts paid off as their lead quickly exceeded three minutes. De Bondt won the first intermediate sprint, but the competition stiffened in the second, with Ineos Grenadiers (with race leader Elia Viviani) recognizing the threat. De Bondt barely secured the necessary seconds to virtually lead the general classification. 

As the breakaway was caught, the race set the stage for a sprint finish in the streets of Qinzhou, resembling the previous day's scenario. Teams like Ineos Grenadiers and Bora-Hansgrohe were gearing up for their sprinters, Viviani and Sam Bennett respectively. Alpecin-Deceuninck's Jakub Marezcko also joined the sprinting action, aiming for his first Tour of Guangxi victory, while Jonathan Milan from Bahrain - Victorious sought to improve his performance from the previous stage. 

However, some riders attempted to avoid a bunch sprint, including three riders from Lotto-Dsnty, requiring a strong effort from Alpecin-Deceuninck to lead the sprint to the finish line. Ultimately, Bahrein Victorious' sprinter Jonathan Milan turned out to be the fastest sprinter of the day. 

After the finish he said that he was satisfied by improving the race result from yesterday. “I wanted to perform well for my team, and my teammates. I have been feeling great lately, and I came with good fitness to China. Yesterday I went too early, and I was motivated to correct that mistake today. This time, I chose the right timing, and I am super happy with the victory.” 

In terms of classifications, Frederik Wandahl retained his lead in the KOM classification, with no KOM sprints in this stage. Julius Johansen was celebrated as the most active rider of the day, while all the other jerseys were held by Milan, setting the stage for the slightly hillier stage scheduled for tomorrow.
